Who should use this calculator
This free calculator is intended for freelancers, sole traders, contractors and small-business owners who need a quick planning figure before preparing or checking an invoice. It can also help clients and bookkeepers understand the arithmetic behind a quoted amount. Use the result as a review aid alongside the relevant agreement, source records and current official guidance, not as an automatic accounting or legal decision.
Calculator methodology
Line total equals quantity multiplied by unit price. Tax is calculated from the subtotal at the chosen rate.
This is general information, not tax, legal or accounting advice.
Worked example
A consultant enters invoice BZ-105, a quantity of 3 days and a unit price of £450. The subtotal is £1,350. With a correctly applicable 20% tax rate, the preview shows £270 tax and £1,620 gross. They review seller, client, dates and payment terms before printing the PDF.
Important limitations
The browser-generated document is not saved by Billoz and does not validate legal names, numbering sequences, tax registration, CIS, currency, local requirements or whether the rate selected is appropriate. Refreshing or closing the page can lose the entered content. Review the PDF carefully and retain your own secure copy and supporting work records.
